If you’re unsure of whether or not your hand is close to 21, ask the dealer for a third card and if they agree, say “Hit.” The dealer will then deal another card, face up, and place it next to your original two cards. This second card will either be a “Stand” or “Hit.”
The dealer will then take a look at their hole card and make a decision about the next card to be dealt to each player. Typically, a dealer will reveal their hole card when the first player is ready to bet. This can be a sign that the dealer doesn’t have a blackjack but it can also be a sign that the dealer is trying to win by showing their hand too much.
